Homeowners who want essential-circuit backup on more than one floor, small businesses and clinics that need two independent 7,200 W power sources, RV and off-grid owners who run 240 V equipment, and anyone planning a Smart Transfer Switch installation who wants the full 14,400 W parallel output from day one.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need the Smart Transfer Switch to use both units?
No. Each Explorer 5000 Plus works on its own straight out of the box. The Smart Transfer Switch is only required if you want to connect both units in parallel for 14,400 W combined output and automatic home-circuit backup.
How do I recharge the kit with solar?
Each unit accepts up to 15 A on its High-PV MC4 input (135–450 V) and up to 1,200 W on the two DC 8 mm Low-PV ports. Jackery quotes 6.5–8.5 hours for a solar recharge of one unit under good conditions. SolarSaga 500 X panels are sold separately.
Can I add more capacity later?
Yes. Each Explorer 5000 Plus accepts Jackery Battery Pack 5000 Plus expansion batteries (5,040 Wh each), so the kit can grow with your needs.
What is the warranty and how does shipping work?
Jackery covers the Explorer 5000 Plus with a 5-year manufacturer warranty. CSE Solar USA is an Authorized Jackery Dealer; the kit ships free within the continental USA direct from Jackery.
