FAQ

Solar kits and bundles: common questions

What is the difference between a complete system, a bundle and a kit?
A CSE complete power system is a CSE-configured package with a verified bill of materials for its stated purpose, such as FranklinWH whole-home battery backup. An inverter + battery bundle pairs a matched inverter and battery from one manufacturer. A portable solar generator kit pairs a portable power station with a compatible solar panel, battery or accessory. Each listing names exactly what is included.
Do these kits include solar panels?
Only when the listing says so. Portable solar generator kits include the panels named in the title. The inverter + battery bundles and the FranklinWH power systems do not include rooftop solar panels; panels, racking and installation materials are sold separately.
Is installation included?
No. Kits and bundles are equipment only. Home battery and inverter systems must be installed by a qualified, licensed installer under local codes and utility rules. Portable power stations are designed for direct use.
Can CSE help me choose the right system?
Yes. Tell CSE your goal (backup power, savings or off-grid), your main electrical panel size, the loads you want to run, any existing solar and your ZIP code, and we will suggest compatible equipment from the brands we carry.
