The OutBack Power GSLC175-PV1-120/240 is a fully pre-wired, factory-tested load center designed to make installing a Radian Series inverter faster and compliant with electrical codes. This “PV” version is specifically built for solar-integrated systems. It includes not just the standard AC bypass and battery disconnects, but also the critical Ground Fault (GFDI) protection and circuit breakers needed to connect a solar charge controller.

It is the ideal “all-in-one” balance-of-system solution for the Radian GS8048A or GS4048A inverters when used in split-phase 120/240V applications.

“PV1” typically indicates the unit is pre-wired to support one PV Charge Controller out of the box. If you have a large array requiring two charge controllers, you will need to purchase an additional breaker kit and GFDI bridge to add the second one.

Q3: Can I use this for the 4kW Radian (GS4048A)?

Yes. While the 175A breaker is sized to handle the max surge of the 8kW (GS8048A), it is perfectly safe and compatible to use with the 4kW model as a master disconnect.

Q4: Is the GFDI required?

For almost all residential installations in the USA, yes. The NEC (National Electrical Code) requires a Ground Fault Detector Interrupter for PV systems to prevent fire hazards. Since this unit has it pre-installed, it saves you from buying an expensive external device.

No. The GSLC enclosure is NEMA 1 rated (Indoor Use Only). It must be installed in a garage, basement, or weather-proof shed. It protects against dust and contact but is not watertight against rain.
