Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What types of generators are compatible? The module works best with standby generators that support 2-wire start functionality (e.g., Kohler, Generac, Briggs & Stratton). It can also work with utility-sensing generators.
Q2: Does this replace an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS)? Yes. The aGate X, combined with this Generator Module, acts as the transfer switch. You do not need a separate external ATS, which simplifies installation and reduces costs.
Q3: Can I control the generator manually? Yes. You can start or stop the generator manually at any time using the FranklinWH App, giving you full control during an emergency or for maintenance runs.
Q4: How does it save fuel? Instead of running 24/7 during an outage, the system runs the generator only to recharge the batteries and power the home. Once the batteries are charged, the generator turns off, and the home runs on silent battery power.
Q5: Where is this module installed? The ACCY-GENV2-US is installed inside the aGate unit. It is a compact component that bolts into the existing enclosure, keeping your wall clear of extra equipment.
