FAQ
Growatt inverters and batteries: frequently asked questions
What does Growatt make?
In North America Growatt makes storage-ready string inverters (MIN TL-XH-US), split-phase hybrid inverters (SPH), commercial hybrid inverters (WIT), APX high-voltage batteries for MIN, 48 V ALP batteries, backup equipment (SYN 200, ATS-US), smart meters and THOR EV chargers.
Which MIN TL-XH-US version do I need for backup?
Growatt makes two MIN TL-XH-US hardware versions. The single-AC-port version works only with the SYN 200-XH-US for whole-home backup. The dual-AC-port version (on-grid plus backup port) works only with ATS-US and the SM-US-200 meter for critical-loads backup. Growatt asks that the version be specified when ordering.
Which batteries work with the MIN inverter?
MIN TL-XH-US uses a 400 V class high-voltage battery, such as the Growatt APX HV battery system (5 to 30 kWh). Growatt’s supported battery options change over time, so CSE confirms the battery Growatt currently supports for MIN before quoting a system.
Which batteries work with the SPH hybrid inverter?
SPH 10000TL-HU-US works with 48 V batteries. Growatt lists SPH with ALP batteries as a UL 9540 system (5 to 40 kWh), and other approved batteries, including AXE, appear on its Approved LV Battery List. Lead-acid is also supported.
Which monitoring does Growatt use?
MIN and SPH have built-in Wi-Fi/4G/LAN dataloggers and use ShinePhone, ShineServer and the Shiner app; installers use Growatt OSS.
What is the Growatt warranty?
Growatt USA states a standard 10-year warranty from installation, up to a maximum of 5.5 years from factory delivery. Some products differ: THOR chargers list 3 years and the SM-US-200 meter 5 years on their datasheets.
Where is Growatt based?
Growatt was founded in 2011 and is headquartered in Shenzhen, China. Its U.S. company is Growatt USA Inc. in Northridge, California.
